Jan. 9, 2018

 Hola,

Well it's been a lot of work here in Calexico. Elder Cowley and I have gotten to work. We have been challenging members to give us names and addresses of people who would be interested in hearing our message. It's has been working really well! We have found a fair amount of people to teach. We have three people with dates for baptisms. We are worried about one of them but the others are super exciting.

This last week we had Zone Conference with our mission president. That was super great and really spiritual. I'm glad to be able to have the opportunity to learn and grow out here. I have almost been out here in Calexico for a mounth. That's kinda weird because it feels like I just got out here and it also feels like I've always been here. Time is a little bit different out here but that's good because it means I'm maybe paying attention to the right things (like the people here and the Lord).

I've been blessed enough to be able to see and take part in some Miricles. I'll tell you one. So I got my original bicycle back from a man who took it to Mexico to fix it. I was riding around that night and it felt like the petal was a little loose so we went home and the petal fell off with no hope of going back on. It was kinda sad and lame. So because of that we have been walking around. We were about to spend out first day of only walking from place to place so we prayed that we would be led. We walked and it was a long day but by the end we had one more people commit to being baptised and two more new investigators. They are all pretty darn solid people! It was pretty amazing.

I love the opportunity to be here serving and helping all people come unto Christ. One thing I have learned this week is the power of prayer and fasting. Those two simple things really bring Miricles in everyday life. One other thing that I have learned is that Christ suffered all of the Justice so we need only suffer the Mercy. That is all depending on what we want and how we go and get that.

Love you all so much!

Elder Stephen
