I am completely beat from this week! So the Zone Leaders came over and asked if I wanted a hard boiled egg. I said sure. Then I shelled this egg and it tasted a little weird. I didn't chew it because it tasted way terrible. So I spat it out and the Zone Leaders lost it. They gave me Balut. Balut is a boiled baby duck. It was terrible. Don't try it.
This week, also we were offered weed, found some cake pipes, and walked in on one of our return appointments using Coke so that was also cool. One of the less actives that we work with has a Son who is struggling to get out of alcoholism and we are trying to help him. We received a text early one morning saying that this man had been murdered and to not contact his grieving father. We were spooked for sure. We asked to see the father the next day, but he said he wasn't doing well and we would have to come the next day. When we finally came, his son (the dead one) answered the door and apologized and said that while he was drunk one of his friends sent that text. Holy Crap. We were able to talk with those two for a while and the whole family is doing very well now.
One night this week, Elder Glorious and I decided to go for a run. We ran 5.6 miles to the beach. I didn't realize how long it has been since I had run longer distances. my lungs were fine but now I have shin splints and my hips are sore haha!
Outside of my week, as a zone, we are focusing on adding new investigators. I have loved this focus because I love hearing about other people's faith in God. I have met so many wonderful people out here! We have been fining more and more people who love God and that is such a beautiful thing! I wanted to share a message from one of favorite hymns;
"Be still, my soul: The Lord is on thy side;
With patience bear thy cross of grief or pain
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change he faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: Thy best, thy Heavenly Friend
Thru thorny ways lead to a joyful end"
I love this message because its something that we all need to remember. We all go through things that we don't feel strong enough for but we can be strong enough through Jesus Christ.
Love you all!,
Elder Stephen
